Sip your way to health using copper !!

Since ancient times Ayurveda has advocated the benefits of drinking water from a copper vessel. Ayurveda states that when you store water in a copper vessel it has the ability to balance all the three doshas (vata, kapha and pitta) in your body. This happens because the copper vessel positively charges the water.

The water stored in a copper vessel is known as ‘tamarajal’ and is suggested to be consumed after storing the water in a copper vessel for at least eight hours. This process is called “oligodynamic effect” and has the ability to destroy a wide range of harmful microbes, molds, fungi etc. due to the toxic effect it has on living cells. Copperized water is a natural antioxidant that helps balance the three doshas. The trace amount of copper in a Tamrajal is safe and healthful, even when added to other normal dietary sources of copper.

During this storage time, the copper works its way into the water and allows it to be consumed by you. This allows you to gain all the positive benefits of copper in your drinking water. It is reported that the best part about this water is that it never becomes stale and can be stored this way for long periods of time. Benefits have been known to help the digestive system perform better, aid in weight loss, help heal wounds faster, slow down aging, help to maintain cardiovascular health, prevent cancer, kill bacteria, promote skin health, and aid a healthy brain. In order to make drinking water safe, water treatment plants use basic filtration systems to remove most contaminants. These systems make water safe for drinking but they also destroy water’s vital life energy and drastically shift its natural pH. By the time your drinking water has been treated, traveled great distances through water pipes and gets into your glass, it has lost much of its vitality, tasting “dead”. As a result, the water we drink is not easily absorbed by our cells, leaving us wanting more.

Copper is an important mineral that the human body needs to function optimally. It offers many benefits and in many cases is integral to a healthy body. The human body cannot create copper so it must be derived from our diets. Nuts, greens, some seafood, and legumes are a few of the more popular ways to get copper naturally. Unfortunately, this may not be enough which leads to the importance of copper drinking vessels.
